Want to turn your hobby into a career? - Reparadius

Every year it continues to climb: the number of orders from specialist dealers and workshops. Everything is being built, repaired and sold as much as possible (or as delivery bottlenecks allow), but more and more often the entire industry is facing the same challenge: vacant positions in the workshop area simply cannot be filled due to a lack of skilled workers.

Since Corona, at least, there has actually been no shortage of interested people; however, in practice, the jump from hobby mechanic to shop employee is often bigger than expected and this is where the cat bites its own tail.

The sharp increase in the number of repairs and new assemblies means that the existing journeymen and master craftsmen are so heavily burdened with work that training (whether for an apprentice or a career changer) is often not able to be integrated into everyday life.

This is where the vit:bikes Academy would like to help with their free basic course “Learn how to repair a bicycle”! (can be found at https://fahrrad.vitbikes.de/werkstattkurs/ , launch: September 2022).

The aim is to counteract the shortage of skilled workers and to use the course for career changers to provide access to the bicycle market to all those who have previously had difficulty finding a way into bicycle workshops around the world due to a lack of training in this area.

Anyone who takes part in the course will gain a wealth of basic knowledge about working on bicycles - whether for their own hobby or as a basis for starting a career.

Since July, Kim, a trained two-wheel mechatronics engineer with years of workshop experience, has been part of the vit:bikes Academy team as an expert.

Kim not only enjoys tinkering with bikes himself, but also enjoys passing on his knowledge and is an incredibly patient teacher.

He is also the one who holds the courses and regularly appears on your screens after registration.
